INDIAMIN WATER TREATMENT

We Tell The Facts Only

How INDIAMIN works

INDIAMIN is essentially formulation consisting of polycarboxylates and surface-active fatty alkyl polyamines in combination with other amines of varying volatility.

The use of INDIAMIN to treat water and steam carrying systems, such as water/steam and heating circuits, has many advantages over conventional conditioning which often requires several substances to be added at various locations and needs regular monitoring.

In the boiler water of steam generators the polyelectrolytes have a synergetic effect. The polycarboxylate causes at every temperature an alkalization because of hydrolysis. As a polyelectrolyte it has greater affinity to bivalent cations (e.g. Fe2+ or Ca2+), like a weak acidic ion exchanger. Hence, quite stables calcium or iron salts are formed which can be removed by blow down. Silica present both in soluble and insoluble form is dealt by breaking the silica chain to form complexes that neither adhere to the metal surface nor get carried over to steam phase thereby easily removed by blow down. At the stoechiometric limits any residual hardness is kept in solution. Any additional contaminants are sequestered, suspended and dispersed,

i.e. prevented from crystallizing and therefore forming scale, or any other deposits. The polyamine has a greater propensity to be adsorbed at the interfaces. In addition to the corrosion-protecting effect of the membrane, it also prevents calcium carbonate crystals from growing on the material surface, especially in the area of the heat transfer. Corrosion products which are transported into the boiler are also prevented from accumulating and any existing deposited can be gently removed. If used in stream generators, pre heated networks, super heaters, turbines and cooling systems, INDIAMIN is an efficient, economical and ecological solution to the difficult problem of corrosion and scaling.

The INDIAMIN range of conditioners provide additional safety due to preventive surface protection the key to successful and economic operation of your systems.

INDIAMIN CHEMICALS FOR BOILED FEED WATER, STEAM AND CONDENSATE TREATMENT

Features of Indiamin Chemicals

  • Chemical Treatment based on Volatile Polyamine based Technology.
  • Replace Hydrazine (& Derivatives) and TSP (& Alternatives)
  • Suitable for Low, Medium and High Pressure Boilers
  • Has been in use and has proven track record of several years in India.
  • Several years of continuous use in various Plant installations both Public and Private is to our change in existing dosing system.
  • We undertake trials at Plants and only if trials are found successful, we contracts.
  • Treatment Compatible with all types of Boilers.

Value Added Benefits of Indiamin Chemicals

  • Non TDS inducing, non solid treatment reduces solid load on Boiler.
  • Reduces Blow Down, Savings in costly DM Water.
  • Reduces over all corrosion rates – reduces Iron in the system.
  • Helps remove old deposits and prevents new ones from forming, increasing the Thermal Efficiency of the system.
  • Silica Management – Restricts Silica to water phase thereby reducing probability of silica deposits on turbines.
  • Protects not only the boiler section but also the pre boiler and condenser section against corrosion due oxygen and carbondioxide.
  • Increases Turbine Efficiency – helps reduce the rate of increase of wheel chamber Pressure.
  • Increases Condenser yield by reduction the corrosion and deposition in condenser section
  • Helps maintain uniform alkalinity in all sections of the Boiler.
  • Simple to handle and monitor as it is non hazardous and does not require residual test for various chemicals, just requires one simple test to ascertain the viability of the treatment.
  • Unlike conventional treatment, we have panel of experts who provide guidelines, routinely monitor and provide expert opinions on water chemistry related issues.

The environmentally friendly alternative to conventional treatment (hydrazine and phosphates):

  • Water – steam circuit
  • Hot water systems
  • Cooling circuits

Function:

INDIAMIN contains as amine which is absorbed to the boiler or pipe surface and forms a membrane; in this way the surface is protected against corrosion while deposits are prevented to a large extent.

INDIAMIN application

An INDIAMIN solution is dosed into the feed water and/or to Boiler Drum. A higher initial concentration is necessary in order to build up the protective membrane.

Behavior at high temperatures

INDIAMIN contributes to build – up a protective magnetite layer. Indeed, it has been proved that
INDIAMIN improves the structure of the magnetite layer and increases the protective effect. Thermal and oxidative decomposition haven’t been found to form toxic products.

Eco – toxicological behavior of INDIAMIN in water

All the relevant physical and chemical information, protective measures and handling instructions are listed in the safety data sheets. Information on toxicology and additional data on ecology in accordance guidelines are also given.
